Working Together for Sustainable Development

ECDIC believes that sustainable development can only be achieved through strong partnerships built on mutual trust, shared values, transparency, and accountability. Over the past two decades, we have collaborated with a diverse range of international development agencies, United Nations organizations, government institutions, civil society organizations, academic institutions, professional networks, and community-based organizations.

Our partnerships are founded on a shared commitment to human rights, gender equality, democratic governance, environmental sustainability, public accountability, and inclusive development

International Development Partners

ECDIC has collaborated with international agencies and donor-supported programs in areas including human rights, health, democratic governance, community resilience, child protection, disaster risk reduction, and institutional strengthening. These collaborations have enabled us to introduce innovative approaches while ensuring international standards of program management, financial accountability, safeguarding, and monitoring and evaluation.

    USAID: Worked as a partner of IDEAS and BCS (PACT/TAF) and CSI (civil society Initiatives) project
  • Global Fund: Worked as a partner for prevention of HIV/AIDS among MSM (Men who have sex with men)/FSW (female sex workers) in Ratnapura District and Prevention of Tuberculosis among venerable groups in Ratnapura District .
  • Associated with “To minimize & control the Threats of the Invasive-Plants in order for the Conservation of the Biodiversity of the places of higher-level Biodiversity” project funded by UNDP/SGP-GEF (United Nations Development programmer / Small Grants programmer - Global Environment Facility). Under this Program, ECDIC has implemented a Pilot programmer to minimize/control the threats of certain Invasive-Plants in Ratnapura and Kuruwita Divisional Secretariats.
  • We are one of the country partner organizations of The Asia South Pacific Association for Basic and Adult Education (ASPBAE), an international organization working to promote educational rights and adult education in the Asia Pacific region.
  • We are one of the country partner organizations of Global Initiative for JUSTICE, TRUTH + RECONCILIATION. This organization works internationally for justice, truth and reconciliation. We have received membership in that network through the ISD Institute.
  • We are one of the country partner organizations of GNDR (Global Network of Civil Society Organization for Disaster Reduction) It is an international network of organizations that works on disaster management and disaster risk reduction.

Government Collaboration

We work closely with national, provincial, district, and local government institutions to improve access to public services, strengthen accountability, enhance community participation, and support policy implementation. Our collaborative approach enables communities and public institutions to work together toward sustainable development outcomes.

  • Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration and Networking for Strengthening Coexistence Societies and Grassroots Community Initiatives 2026 under The Office for National Unity and Reconciliation (ONUR).
  • District partner/Coordinating Organization of National TB Control Programmer under the Ministry of health.
  • District partner/Coordinating Organization of The National STD/AIDS Control Programme (NSACP)under the Ministry of health.

  • One of partner Organization of the Ratnapura District Environment Preservation Committee.
  • One of partner Organization of the Ratnapura District Drug Prevention Committee.

  • The District Partner Organization of Civil Society Collective for Emergency Response. This network coordinates the government's integrated approaches to dealing with disaster situations nationally.

    • Civil Society Networks

    ECDIC maintains strong partnerships with national and local civil society organizations, community-based organizations, women's organizations, youth groups, professional associations, media institutions, and grassroots networks. These partnerships strengthen community ownership, encourage knowledge sharing, and promote collective advocacy on issues affecting marginalized populations.

  • Civil Society collective: Worked with LRG, Udayam, Ekberth Foundation, Valluvan Natpadimandram, Andana Natpadimandram, United Mind, Tamil Culture Research Forum, for promotion of Community Collective for Civil Society Democratic Governance to strengthen grassroots mobilization and democratic participation within covering 3000 plantation community members communities.
  • ECDIC is the Partner Organization and the National Treasurer Organization (Up to 2026) for Coalition for Education Development (CED) funded by ASPBAE/CSEF/EOL .
  • Chairman of the KPTF (Key Populations Task Force) This network is a coalition of civil society organizations working on behalf of high-risk groups and vulnerable groups in Sri Lanka. It is an independent national network operating under the GFATM project.
  • District partner/Coordinating Organization of National Peace Council- (NPC) - The National Peace Council is a key institution working for peace and reconciliation in Sri Lanka. We have been working with this institution as a partner organization for 15 years.
  • District partner/Coordinating Organization of Institute of Social Development (ISD). This nationally based organization works to strengthen human rights and the rights of marginalized communities in Sri Lanka, and we work in conjunction with the Truth and Reconciliation Program. We have been working with them to strengthen rights in the district for 10 years.
  • District partner/Coordinating Organization of CAFFE Organization. We have been working for 10 years as a district partnership organization to monitor election violence and conduct fair elections through public action for free and fair elections.
  • National and Local CSOs and Institute for Democratic Reforms and Electoral Studies (RES).
  • Civil Society Member organization of the CCM (Country Coordination Mechanism) Sri Lanka's National Programme to Combat HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria is coordinated under this mechanism.
  • We are a member of the organization of the Voice of Migrants Network. This network works to strengthen the rights of migrant workers traveling abroad, supports policy planning in this area, and enhances our collective impact and advocacy efforts.

    Our strongest partnerships remain with the communities themselves. Community members actively participate in planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation, ensuring that every program responds to locally identified priorities and produces sustainable, locally owned results.
